The Representation of Radicalisation
22-01-2011 - 13-06-2011 ANGRY focuses on the interpretation of the angry and obstinate adolescents. Protest, resistance and (radical) action in our society is shown from three different aspects: by the youth themselves, by the media and through the interpretation of artists and photographers.
ANGRY shows that radicalism is an all time issue, that it takes place in every segment of society and it exists in a range of levels: from vegan till animal right activist, from pacifist till terrorist. In ANGRY there is no judging and disapproving. Radicalism after all isn’t only negative, it also can result in a positive outcome. ANGRY is made by adolescents, for adolescents. The exhibition contains photo’s, video installations, web-based art, video portraits, photo’s and videos made by adolescents themselves and images of the mainstream media. ANGRY also is part of a multimedia project in cooperation with Paradox and Kosmolpolis Rotterdam. There is also a website, educational material and several activities linked to ANGRY.
